Fashion needs creative people. But, fashion is more than just designers, sewers, and haute couture. It is the business of selling clothing and accessories. The fashion industry employs countless numbers of skilled professionals who are not only creative, but also possess the drive, entrepreneurial sense, and intuition to be successful in the business world. These are careers that require specialized knowledge and training.

For over 20 years The Academy’s Fashion Marketing & Merchandising program has prepared students for the industry by developing both their creative talents and business savvy. The program gives students a solid foundation of skills required by the fashion industry, including marketing, visual merchandising, buying, styling, public relations and event planning. The faculty of the Fashion Marketing & Merchandising program are all working professionals, whose experience gives students an insight into how the industry operates. The capstone project, which is the culmination of the student’s studies, provides an opportunity for them to build a job-ready portfolio by developing real-world experience. The diversity of the curriculum encourages the students to explore a multitude of career paths.
