Community Service Worker
The Community Service Worker program provides students with both theoretical and practical training in the field of social services. Students can expect to visit over 100 different social service organizations in the Greater Toronto Area while enrolled.
Upon graduation students will be able to manage a volunteer program, source housing for clients, write fundraising proposals, run special events, advocate on behalf of clients, conduct needs assessments and program evaluations, be able to use various techniques in conflict resolution and crisis intervention, and have the capacity to assist clients using both a harm reduction philosophy and a culturally competent client centered model of service provision. Students are prepared theoretically and practically allowing them to immediately begin work in the social services sector.
