    21st Century Technology Award Program

    Each year, the School of Engineering Technology and Computing recognizes the activities of extra-curricular technology clubs in high schools throughout the Province of Ontario. The 21st Century award was devised to support technology clubs and the teachers who supervise them.

    School of Engineering Technology and Computing Technology Award Criteria

    1. In each participating high school, one student who is a member of a technology-based club will be recognized with
      1. $100 Award
      2. Technology Award Certificate (suitable for framing)
      3. Name on a School of Engineering Technology and Computing Technology Award plaque that will be displayed in the school’s Awards wall
    2. The award winner may be from any grade and may be a member of any technology-based club or activity that fits this criteria:
      1. The purpose of the club or activity is to provide opportunities for students to learn and do technology. Examples include robotics clubs, web clubs, computer networking clubs.
      2. The club or activity must be formally recognized by the school. A teacher supervises the club/activity.
      3. The club or activity is project-based; that is, students produce a technology project(s).
    3. Each participating high school will select its annual award winners. This latitude will allow each school to individualize its selection process.
    4. The program will run from 2006 through 2010 at which time it will be reviewed.

    School of Engineering Technology and Computing Technology Award Scholarships Criteria

    An award winner who enrolls in programs offered by School of Engineering Technology and Computing (either that year or subsequently) will be eligible for one of twelve scholarships worth up to $4000. These scholarships will be open to both degree and diploma students.
