    Admission Requirements

    Students entering the BT(EET) degree program from high school are required to submit an Academic Ontario Secondary School Diploma with at least a 65% average in six courses from the University or University/College stream, including:

    * A Grade 12 Physics at the U or U/M level
    * One Grade 12 Math course at the U and/or U/M level (Calculus is recommended)
    * Equivalent Canadian or foreign high school credentials
    * English, Grade 12

    Other
    * Post-registration, students demonstrate proficiency in basic college-level skills by writing diagnostic assessments in math and language skills. The results of these assessments will be used to counsel students about remedial tutoring; in some cases students may be required to enrol in remedial courses.

    Mature Students

    Applicants may be considered for admission under the School’s Mature Student regulations for degree-level programs if they have a high school diploma, are 21 years of age or older on the first day of classes, and have demonstrated proficiency in requisite math and language skills. Applicants may be considered for admission to diploma programs if they are 19 years of age or older, have been out of full-time high school for 12 consecutive months and can demonstrate proficiency in requisite math and languages skills.
    International Students

    In addition to completing all general admission requirements, applicants from countries where English is not the primary language spoken and applicants whose native language is not English must demonstrate English-language proficiency by providing the Institute with one of the following:

    * Evidence of having scored at least 550 on the paper-based Test of English as a Foreign Language (TOEFL) or at least 213 on the computer-based TOEFL or equivalent
    * Evidence of having scored at least 5.5 on the International English Language Testing System (IELTS)
    * Evidence of having completed 12 semester hours, with at least a C (70%) average (or equivalent), at a post secondary institution at which English was the language of instruction
