Network Administration and Security Specialist Diploma
This 51-week program provides students with real world experience installing, configuring and maintaining a wide range of network systems from small-scale Local Area Networks to Enterprise systems. Students will be expected to perform network operational tasks, resolve integration issues and apply the principles of design to complete a series of hands-on assignments and case studies.
Throughout the program students will develop troubleshooting, logical reasoning and management skills that will help them succeed.
Network Administrators require a diverse skill sets across many technical areas. A network administrator may be called upon to design or support a corporate website, to create a program that automates repetitive tasks or to secure a cross-platform networked system. Successful administrators should be able to support a wide variety of operating systems, as well as manage resources and complex configurations.
The RCC Network Administration and Security program is driven by the needs of industry and maps to 10 professional designations. It also provides the opportunity for advanced study by articulating into the Computer Networks Engineering Technology program, which is accredited by the Canadian Technology Accreditation Board (CTAB) and which offers graduates the Certified Engineering Technologist (CET) designation and leads to a number of different degree possibilities.
